Hotel Punkaharju is the oldest hotel in Finland still operating the same place – since 1845. The cultural walk, which is about 2.5 km long, introduces the unique history and nature of
Punkaharju under the guidance of the historian, docent Jyrki Paaskoski. During the walk, the guide
tells about the fascinating history of Hotel Punkaharju, the scientific and artistic travelers, the
soldiers of different centuries and the decision to protect Punkaharju issued by the Russian Emperor Alexander I.
