We can easily be reached via train or airplane if you don’t care to drive yourself. In the summertime you can also sail your own boat and use our docking facilities.
By Plane
Flights from Helsinki to Savonlinna operate during summer season. The flight takes only 50 minutes and Savonlinna airport is only 25 minutes away by car. You can also fly to Lappeenranta airport, which is about 1,5 hours’ drive from Hotel Punkaharju. There are direct flights to Lappeenranta at least from Berlin/Germany, Memmingen/Germany, Bergamo/Italy, Wien/Austria and Budapest/Hungary.
By Train
You can take a train from Helsinki and reach the hotel in 3 hours and 40 minutes. The trains leave conveniently enough straight from the airport. Trains between Helsinki and Punkaharju operates five times a day. There is also a local train connection between Punkaharju and Savonlinna (a town famous for the opera festival in July). Train journey to Savonlinna takes about 25 minutes. Besides the center of Punkaharju, the train stops at Retretti and Lusto (the closest stops to our hotel, only 1 kilometer from the hotel). It’s an approximately 15-minute walk to our hotel from the Retretti and Lusto trans stops.
By Car
Besides arranging taxi/bus/train transportation from the airport, it is also possible to rent a car from the airport and arrive to Hotel Punkaharju by car. If needed, we can help arranging taxi/bus transportation for your group from the train station or airport.
Hotel Punkaharju offers free parking.
